  • Larry is a fused glass artist.  He had a career in engineering for 37 years.  Upon retiring he needed an outlet for his creative urges.  He turned to welded and knit steel/copper sculptures and fused glass as his mediums  Larry has been fusing glass for 14 years and his art ranges from abstract to realism.  He says he paints with glass by stacking different colored pieces upon one another.  The glass panels are fused in a kiln at 1,350-1,480 fahrenheit with kiln times ranging from 14-56 hours to achieve various effects.  As retired educator, Larry is willing to share the techniques used to get the various effects. Larry’s items are displayed at Floyd Center of the Arts, various places on the VA Tech Campus, Heartwood Gallery, Abingdon, 2nd Helping Gallery, Roanoke, Black House and Cultural Center, Blacksburg, Albanian Embassy, Washington, DC, and Carroll County Tourism Gift Shop, Hillsville, VA            540-552-0565
