Teresa Bowman

Teresa Bowman resides in Fancy Gap, VA. She began working with wood about 12 years ago. A friend gave her a woodworking magazine and she was intrigued with pictures of scroll saw items. She purchased a scroll saw and began learning how to use it. Being largely self-taught, there has been a huge and very interesting learning curve. She owns many pieces of “designer firewood”. Teresa states the challenge is in the creation. She enjoys taking a plain piece of wood and turning it into something that is useful and beautiful. She derives great satisfaction from making “art” from a “plain board”. Most of her items are made from solid hardwoods. She primarily works with oak, aspen, black walnut, aromatic red cedar, and poplar. Her hope is that her creations bring as much joy to the public and they do to her.
