Enjoy a brisk fitness walk on the New River Trail. Gather in the restroom area just beyond the caboose for a fast-paced fitness walk led by a VA State Park volunteer interpretive guide.

The walk goes to the Cliffview ranger station and back for a total of four miles along Chestnut Creek. The mostly shaded, crushed-stone trail is 12-feet wide with almost no elevation change. You are welcome to walk less by turning back at any point. Participants finishing the walk will receive a free day pass for the Galax Recreation Center (think pool, gym, etc.!).

Please note that there is a $7 fee for parking in State Park lots unless you have an annual pass.
