Intro to Flatfooting/Music and Dance Traditions of Southwest Virginia
On the Breezeway at the Blue Ridge Music Center

Monday, July 9, 11:30am-12:30pm
Free!

Join us the second Monday of the month in June, July, August and September on the Breezeway at the Blue Ridge Music Center, milepost 214 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, for an Introduction to Flatfooting. We’ll start at 11:30 before the official start of the Mountain Midday Music. Beginning with a few easy flatfoot steps we’ll also talk about the dance and music traditions of the area, and finish up with a mini-square dance, local style!

The fabulous Buck Mountain Band will be playing the music for this free workshop. Come have fun, kick up your heels, and learn about the music and dance of the area.

No preregistration is needed.

This class is funded in part by a grant from the Twin County Community Foundation, and is co-sponsored by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.  Sponsored by Chestnut Creek School of the Arts.
