Have cabin fever after the recent snow?  Virginia State Parks can help with their Spring Break events.

New River Trail State Park invites you to uplug with your family during Spring Break 2018.  Tour the shot tower with park staff this weekend (March 31 – April 1) 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily.  The Jackson Ferry Shot Tower is more than 200 years old.  It provided ammunition for settlers and soldiers in Southwest Virginia.  Parker the Fox, Virginia State Park mascot, will visit the park from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday.  It’s the perfect opportunity to take your or your children’s picture with Parker.

Grayson Highlands State Park invites you to “look for the first buds on the trees or delicate spring wildflowers as you explore. There are multiple trails to explore in the park.  Ranger-led activities include:

March 31: Easter Eggspedition – 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. and Wild Pony Hike – 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

April 7: Wild Pony Hike – 10:00 – Noon and Skins, Bones and Pawprints – 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
