Virginia Creeper Fest is April 28 in Abingdon! The free family-friendly event celebrates the famous Virginia Creeper Trail and highlights outdoor recreation opportunities along the trail.
Meet us at the Trailhead in Abingdon to celebrate the award-winning Virginia Creeper Trail by checking out the multitude of outdoor recreation opportunities enjoyed along the trail by nature lovers of all ages.
Kids’ field day activities, Yoga in the park, Tree identification along the trail, Scheduled bike rides, Geocaching, Disc dog exhibitions and clinics, Hammock Hangouts, Equipment demos, Outfitters, Food Trucks and Live Music throughout the day.
Activities are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and include a climbing wall, hammock hangouts, disc dog exhibitions, and field games for the kids, tree identification along the trail, birding walks and scavenger hunts.
The site is at Green Spring Road and A streets in Abingdon near the trailhead. Festival guide available April 1 at www.vacreeperfest.com.
The Virginia Creeper Fest will have activities in multiple areas near the trailhead, at 300 Green Spring Road. A map with activity locations and outfitter/partner booths is posted below. Parking is very limited, it is suggested to either park at the former Magic Mart lot at 510 Cummings Street and ride the trolley to the event, or park in the Municipal Lot at 238 West Main Street, and hop on the Creeper Trail extension behind the Abingdon Market Pavilion for a quick walk to the activities.
