The Mountain Music Makers features Clarence and Bobbi Roberts, playing old-time mountain music, folk music, ballads, and gospel.
Clarence sings lead and harmony vocals’ and plays the fiddle, guitar, dulcimer, and washboard. He is a songwriter, and is also is a luthier who builds a varity of instruments.
Bobbi sings lead, plays the autoharp and the old-time banjo. Bobbi is also a songwriter.
The Mountain Music Makers present the roots of the mountain music. and the stories of thier songs, some going back to the 16th century.
The sounds of the fiddle, banjo, and guitar are likely to welcome you when you visit the Blue Ridge Music Center open late May-October.
When you visit, you can experience regional traditional music each day of the week with Mid-Day Mountain Musicians on the breezeway of the visitors center where The Roots of American Music Museum—an entertaining exhibition highlighting the historical significance of the region’s music—is also located.
